Heavy Tow Humble Team Saves the Day

Our heavy tow Humble team came to the rescue of a broken down 18 wheeler. The driver was making his way down US-59 when his truck suddenly broke down and he was unable to shift gears.

The heavy towing team was by the driver’s side in minutes. Their main priority was to get the truck off the highway and away from fast-moving traffic. The truck was having issues holding air pressure. Thankfully, the heavy tow Humble team managed to get enough air in the system to tow the truck to a nearby service station.

The truck was hauling a reefer trailer which was starting to run out of fuel. The team towed the truck to the pumps so the driver could top off the fuel on his reefer trailer.

With the 3 mile tow complete and the truck safe at the truck stop, the heavy towing team was free to go back to On Site Towing’s headquarters. The truck driver had already arranged for a mechanic from his company to come in the next morning to change the compressor as they thought that was the issue. 

Our heavy tow operators are expert problem solvers. They felt like something just wasn’t right with the whole situation. If it was really a compressor issue on the truck, then our team would have had no problem filling the air tank with the compressor from their heavy wrecker. However, even though the compressor on the wrecker was much larger than the one on the truck, the system was still not holding air.

The tow truck operator circled the truck and heard air leaking. He had a look and discovered that the airline supplying air to the transmission had come apart! All it took was a quick tightening with a wrench and the issue was solved! 

It turns out that the customer had just had transmission work done on his truck. Something tells me he won’t be visiting that repair shop again!

The customer no longer had to wait overnight and would be able to complete his delivery on time! Fantastic work out there team … you really went above and beyond!

The heavy tow Humble team received a call about an 18-wheeler stranded on US-59 in Humble, TX. A heavy tow Humble team was dispatched to the customers location. Once on site, the heavy tow Humble team assessed the situation. 

After several attempts, the heavy tow Humble team managed to get enough air in the air system to tow the truck to a truck stop three miles away. As per the driver’s request, the heavy tow Humble team pulled the truck to the fuel pump so they could top off the fuel tank for their reefer trailer. 

A member of the heavy tow team heard air leaking from the truck. Their inspection showed that the airline supplying air from the truck to the transmission had come apart. The heavy towing operator connected the airline and tightened it with a wrench.
